Life interruptus.
Thanks to a number of things that suddenly demand all my attention, all of the time, the blog is taking a break. It might be a short break, it might be a long break. I can’t predict with any accuracy and since I’m not a climate scientist, I won’t try.
Hosting is paid up for while ahead, so the site’s safe if you need a hottie fix. And the Blogroll is replete with talent, wit and in one very special case, all the nakedry you can shake a stick at. Poor choice of words, but Soylent won’t mind.
For actual science stuff I recommend WUWT and Tallbloke. Climate Change Dispatch is a good source of AGW stories, and for snark you need Ace, or at least Ace’s commenters. And if you’re interested in just how bad a day Raj Pachauri is having, check with Minx the Merciless.
TA covers the UK, Simon at ACM has down-under covered, and Tom Nelson doesn’t miss anything, anywhere. And for pure Internet entertainment, Theo is unbeatable.
Here’s a consolation hottie, because you’re worth it. She’s Eva Green, because why not go out with a green?
As always, thanks for reading.

Makes me wonder if someone has “warned” him about something……
Too close to the bone perhaps? Entirely possible. The establishment have deep pockets and no morals.
Ya know anytime soon would be good. Ya know to come back, or give everyone here an explaination?
At this rate the arctic sea ice will be mostly gone before DB returns. Only 41 days to go. So which will be first? DB comes back or we will be jet sking at the north pole?
i normally delete blogs that do not update in a month,
BUT for daily bayonet i will wait for 10 years.
Come on give us something , waiting for the weekly roundup was! is! ,shouldbe a highlight for everyone interested in skewering the modern left.
Really missing you!
I hope everything is alright, and I hope you return soon.
Agreed – bring back the Snark Meister!!
Intelligent stuff on the web sorely missed…
Enough already! I’m having snark withdrawal and there is no antidote!
[...] DAILY BAYONET.. on a hiatus, but has the links you crave … [...]
Hope your break isn’t *too long* and you return tanned, rested and ready to skewer some more.
She was sensational in the 2006 Bond movie ‘Casino Royale’. She isn’t just hot… she is sizzling!
I was going to come here and bitch about yet another week of no global warming apocalyptic meyhem update, but then I saw Eva Green again and all was well.
Stay away for as long as you like, DB.
As Our host is unavailible for bayoneting duty , here`s one about someone so clueless You merely have to hold the bayonet and He`ll do the rest :
Australia`s MSM have noticed that Australia`s Climate Change commissioner , Tim Flannery , is …shall we say ..less than accurate in his predictions of ever longer droughts and empty dams
http://www.news.com.au/national/tim-flannerys-like-the-weather-unreliable/story-e6frfkvr-1226316094295
I’d like to say take your time with what you have to do, but hurry up and comeback, I think we all want to see more of your skewering the clueless , The Daily Bayonet style.
Thank You.
“On Dennis Miller’s radio show Thursday Lord Christopher Monckton, a former policy adviser to British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher and an activist against global warming “alarmism,” went all-in on questioning President Barack Obama’s citizenship.
“… the 3rd Viscount Monckton of Brenchley hinted about his position on the issue in April 2010 at a tea party rally on the National Mall near the White House.
But on Miller’s show, he said the birth certificate issue was far more important that combatting so-called anthropogenic global warming.
“I mean, hey you got a president who has a false birth certificate on the Internet, on the White House website,” Monckton said. “It’s not even clear where he was born…
“… Miller protested by saying he disagreed with the suggestion that Obama has a fraudulent birth certificate. But Monckton dug in his heels.
“I don’t know whether he is Kenyan or not,” Monckton said.
“The point is that if I were you, I would want to make absolutely sure that he was born here before allowing him to be elected. And the birth certificate that he put up on that website, I don’t know where he was born. But I do know that birth certificate isn’t genuine.”
Monckton firmly asserted that the birth certificate on the White House website wasn’t real, and claimed it could be dismantled with software.
“It appears in layers on the screen in such a way you can remove quite separately each of the individual dates,”
Monckton said.
“You use Adobe Illustrator and each of the individual dates is in its own separate layer. This thing has been fabricated. Sheriff [Joe] Arpaio of Arizona has had a team on this for six months. And he has now gone public and said there’s something very desperately wrong with this and of course nobody is saying anything because the entire electorate has been fooled.”
“… I haven’t a clue where Obama was born and I wouldn’t want to entreat into the private grief behind investigating. But the point is, is what he has done on the White House website is he has put up a document which he is plainly a forgery and I would regard that as a very serious matter.”

Two Hippies are walking down a railroad track stoned and one Hippie says ,
“This is one really long staircase man !”
The other Hippie says,
“I don’t mind the stairs man , it’s this low F@#%ing handrail thats killing me.”
Damn. Global Warming causes blog hiatus. Add it to The List.
I hope things align well for you.
Since global warming, sea level rise, ice melt and malaria spread have all taken a time out, so can you.
But they will be back with vengeance. So can you.
Thursdays have been Bayonet night for a while now.
All the best and Thank You.
Oh noes – it’s worse than I thought!!! Add it to the list!
Hope you’re back in time for the final battle(s); as dear old Will once wrote:
“And gentlemen in England,now a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs’d they were not here
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin’s day.”
PS. Always lemon, never lime, since you ask 8-)
Hope it’s nothing serious and good luck. You deserve a break, the volume of links alone shows enough computer time to cause blindness. Will continue to check your page daily as it is one of my few good habits.
Go on.
Yeah, we all know the real reason, you’re cashing in your Big Oil® climate denier checks™ and using the money to hunt polar bears with your Chinese masters. I know it’s true, Peter Gleick sent me some anonymous post and I never check any facts sent in anonymous mailings.
Just be sure to bag a big ‘un and come back with the trophy. I’ll leave the reader to ponder whether I’m talking poley bear, greenie ego or global hottie. The readers prejudice will decide, or something.
I’d say enjoy the break but if it’s flat out work, maybe not so much. Good luck with getting the project done and I hope you come back, we’ll still be here. Thanks for all the giggles you’ve given me :)
Tez @ March 13, 2012 at 3:59 pm
… said (almost) all I wanted to say, and pinched most of my words too. Still, no hard feelings (mutter… mutter… spit).
Come back soon – all is forgiven. Skewering the clueless is a noble task, and we’ve all gotta do it.
@Soylent: Tall shoes? I’m not the one who scored a Pournelle link, you Internet godlet.
@Tez: If nothing else, I’ll try and find some new material in the hiatus.
@Doug: Them’s some kind words, I thank you.
@All: I have an important project that needs to be completed on a deadline, but I’m way behind and this blog is a large part of the reason why. When my project is finished, I aim to return to regular posting again. Or something ;)
Thanks for the time you have spent giving your readers a good laugh at a crazy world. I wish we could return the favor and give you a lift. Whatever the challenges, here’s hoping you can muddle through.
We’ll miss you. And your politically incorrectness.
Getting the details and getting them right takes a helluva lot of time and attention. Blogs can be like conversations that get played back at you later, all your gaffes and misquotes and hairy statements that are not quite right, though the point being made is. Avoiding that while not making a post a full-day’s work is not easy.
Perhaps a simple Bayonet on someone else’s post would do. Plus a hottie, of course, especially if she were Green.
Bet you can’t quite stay away … the climate wars are the Viet Nam of our time, a philosophical dividing line. Years to come we will be asked where we stood, and how prominently we stood there. Hansen is doing his pose for posterity just as a schoolmate of mine, Allyson Huntley, got herself chained to the White House fences to protest the war in 1973. She had creds. You do, too.
Rest up. Get your self straight and come back strong.
Hopefully it will be a short break – this site is one of my favourite reads.
Oh Noes. My favourite blog is going. Make it a very short break or you may find you are sharing a bed with a severed horse’s head. (The Blogfather).
Seriously. I find this blog informative and vastly entertaining.
Oh noes, tell me it isnt true. I’ve always looked forward to your friday roundup, or something. Its not that you have affected my writing style. oh wait.
PS Come back soon, the bayonet must be twisted for maximum effect.
Come back soon!!! This is the first website I check every day; I’ll miss you!
Take care of number one, and know that your public will always await.
Guess I’ll just have to get my Canadian fix from the Mayor and Natasha.
I shall endeavor to skewer as many Thermageddon mongers as possible in your absence, but tall shoes…tall shoes.
Best wishes on the joys and intrusions of real life.
Oh noes, a hippie skewering hiatus! Some r and r will restore the edge to your bayonet.
All the best. I’ve enjoyed your work in the short time I knew about it. Please come back when you can!
