There’s no shout-fest, but I’m giving the win to Delingpole for shutting down Monbiot when he pulled out the old ‘peer-review’ tactic. Welcome to the post-Climategate world, Monbiot, you have to thank the very scientists you try to defend for having ruined science’s reputation.
Wow. Well there was a clear lesson in objectivity? Mombiot get’s to run his propaganda piece first, and get’s the last word too? Very balanced reporting indeed.
The quasi-religious lens of the CAGWers will be very hard to shake off. Even though other viewpoints have been ceremoniously and sytematically blocked from the peer review process, their mantra is still “peer review is our answer to all the charges from the skeptics”. For Monbiot to not acknowledge how dependent climate science has been on the CRU cabal and its data sets is disingenuous. This is in addition to his not responding adequately to all of the recent “-Gates” of the IPCC. The psychological process of projection is now in full swing by the CAGWers. This defensive posture is to be expected as part of their downfall. As they lose their communicative (propaganda) power, I think we will see evidence of what I was taught in a behavioral studies class years ago: an extinction balloon of greater and louder denunciation of the skeptics as their own self-inflicter wounds fully bleed out. It’s not going to be pretty.
Koolaid drinkers like Monbiot are never going to surrender whether it is to common sense or glaciers coming through the front door. They have their cult and they are stickin’ to it.
Monbiot accuses Delingpole of never having read a peer-reviewed paper, and when Delingpole points out that peer-review as it is done in climate science has been shown to be a joke, Monbiot then tapdances away from that point by accusing Delingpole of avoiding his accusation. It seems that irony is something Monbiot cannot recognize, along with the fact that the climate science ship is sinking. Hope he keeps those wellies from his video handy.
