Aaron Carter is headed towards a pitstop. Just after his appearance on The Doctors, which talked about his mental health, the “I Want Candy” singer has revealed he is canceling his ongoing and upcoming tours.
“I recognize and feel honored to have the love and efforts from my supporters,” he tweeted Monday morning. “But after my upcoming shows in Kentucky & Missouri & after I fly to Vancouver to do the toy drive which I’m giving away 400 toys and over 1k of fan donations I’m canceling the rest of my shows till the New Year.”
“I have to prioritize my health and I hope you can all understand my decision. I need this break to heal and recover my batteries,” the 31-year-old added. “I love you. Stay strong. Stay healthy, and just know I’ll be back all guns blazing. But as a man, at the moment I really need peace. Xo”
According to this official website, Carter was set to perform in seven events from October through January. He is not retracting on his decision despite the fans asking him to do so on social media.
During the show, the singer who is popularly known as A.C revealed he has been diagnosed with schizophrenia, manic depression, and acute anxiety.
He also confessed something very personal by revealing that he used to overdose on drugs following the footsteps of his sister, Leslie Carter, who died of a drug overdose a few years back. He also described himself as a ‘recovering addict’.
Aaron Carter has had a very packed 2018. He has performed in multiple shows across the globe along with attending many fan events.
We can only imagine the stress he has had to endure. He will be back in mid-2020 and rest assured, he deserves this break. Come back stronger, A.C.
