Blake Shelton quipped that Gwen Stefani is the perfect contender as Adam Levine‘s replacement on The Voice. “This season Gwen has kinda saved the show in Blake’s eyes,” a source who knows the couple tells HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY.
“He and the rest of the coaches were laced up and ready to work with Adam once more but once that fell through the show had to divert and she stepped up.”
It’s not all amusing that the country crooner would be delighted to know that his girlfriend will be sitting on Adam’s seat. Gwen used to be on the show, that’s how the couple met in the first place before they started seeing each other in 2015.
But she’s add something unique to the table this time around. “Blake knows a side of Gwen that he respects so much,” the insider added. “She is such a big hard worker and to see that right in front of his face is very motivating for everyone.”
But the “Hollaback Girl” hitmaker coming back on the show isn’t the only thing fans are excited to have to look forward to on season 17. Blake will also take with him his A-game against fellow coaches John Legend and Kelly Clarkson.
“Blake just loved how this season has been going because he gets to sit next to John Legend and take their bond and friendship further,” the source informed. “He will continue talking with Kelly who he is really great friends with and Gwen who we all know their status together is like.
So instead of it being Blake against Adam, he can have fun with everyone. It has actually increased Blake’s love for the show and it has blown a kind of a difference or a rather fresh amount of air to the show for him that he has been doing for years.” In all probability, it seems like this is shaping up to be an excellent season of The Voice!
