While Brad Pitt’s latest release ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ is still going on in theatres, the actor also gave a hint at the possibility of mini-series of the movie. Pitt stated that the director Quentin Tarantino has discussed the idea of extending the film into episodes including added videos.
Variety quoted the actor during his conversation that he had with the New York Times this week. When asked about Tarantino’s plan of streaming the version of the film, the actor said in the affirmation that he had talked about it and that it was a pretty arousing idea. While the film discovered itself being caught in various controversies, he believes that the version with episodes will be more successful.
He said that he was curious to see if movies would last if movies would stick around. He says that he noticed about the younger generation is that they are used to getting a lot of information at a much faster speed, and they are more inclined to watch a short series of episodes where you can be in it as long as you want or jump away whenever you get bored.
Pitt also said that going and watching a film in a theatre is more of an experience filled with commotion but also believes that mini-series can give more freedom to every character. He also added that he looks at series where one can spend much more time on characters and stories and explore angles that we do not always get to in the film.
Citing Tarantino’s 2015 film ‘The Hateful Eight’ which was converted into a four-part mini-series, Pitt shared that it is almost the best of both worlds. He also said that we have the cinema experience that exists, but we can actually put more content when it comes in a series format.
