A reboot of The Grudge 2004 is being made and John Cho has been cast. The American horror film made in 2004 is also a remake of the original Japanese movie, Ju-on: The Grudge. The American version cost $10 million and brought in $187.3 million at the box office. There were also two big-screen sequels.

In the movie, there is a cursed spirit which is born because of violent death. It is usually attached to the place where the death took place. People who come in contact with the curse do not survive and dies. The curse continues.

Gellar was originally a care worker assigned to an American family living in Tokyo, who are eventually falling prey to the curse. In the reboot, Andrea Riseborough will star as a detective and a single mother.

Demian Bichir will also star in the reboot and according to Variety, John Cho will also be in the movie. John Cho is best known for his work in Harold & Kumar franchise and also in the rebooted Star Trek movies. Cho will be hoping that the film be a success and there will be a sequel for it.

John Cho is well known for his performance in a comedy. The TV series Selfie, Go On, and Difficult People are examples of his comedy skills. He has also worked in the supernatural and horror genre, like in Sleepy Hollow and The Exorcist.

There is still no word about his character in the reboot of The Grudge. Cho will continue to appear on big as well as small screens. He is in the upcoming Serial Dater, The Oath and hopefully in Star Trek. His name in the cast list if the movie will attract a wider audience.

Sam Raimi, the Producer, says that the movie will be an adventure of the horrors of American suburbia. It is a hint that there will be changes compared to the 2004 film.
