
Since British designer Stuart Vevers joined as creative director back in 2014, American brand Coach has undergone something of a reconfiguration.
Where once the label sold mid-priced handbags to middle-American housewives, now the brand owns a whip-smart Wild West cool all of its own.
Today, the brand, which in recent years has become best known for its oversized shearling coats and hip cross-body bags, revealed a new collaboration that takes its cool factor up a gear.
We can exclusively reveal that for AW19, the one and only Michael B Jordan, has dropped his first-ever capsule collection of clothes, footwear, and bags for the brand. Oh, and it’s unisex.

It makes sense. The former GQ cover star is, after all, no stranger to Coach. Last year, he was announced as the first global face of the brand’s menswear, fronting campaigns in motorcycle jackets, leather trousers and teddy bear coats – all hallmarks of Stuart Vevers’ ultra-hip aesthetic.
But, as of today, Jordan’s relationship with the brand enters an entirely new territory. Marking his first foray into fashion design, the Coach x Michael B Jordan collection looks something like this: parkas, backpacks, jean jackets, utility packs, and hybrid sneaker boots. AKA the essential pieces to complete your winter wardrobe.
One of the key creative starting points for Jordan’s new collection was the wonderful world of Naruto, a popular type of Japanese anime. Jordan is a big fan of the series, so working alongside Vevers he plastered a series of ninja characters and Naruto motifs across T-shirts and jackets, alongside a reinterpretation of Coach’s retro logo.
As Jordan explained. “As with all aspects of my work, this collection is about bringing fresh perspectives and unique voices to the forefront. Expanding into the style house was appreciated on the far side of my expectations. I’m grateful to Stuart and Coach for providing Maine with the chance and experience to execute a group I’m very happy with.”
