Harvey Weinstein was caught sleeping several times in the courtroom during his trial on Monday.
While Jessica Mann, the former actor cried profusely during her testimony against the film producer, the accused appeared to be dozing off all the while.
One of the producer’s representatives later informed the media that Harvey Weinstein had held a small party on Super Bowl Sunday.
He also added that the party was a small family get together with less than 20 people to thank them at his place in Manhattan.
Weinstein is facing charges against the famous #MeToo movement. He has been accused of raping a woman in 2013 and forcing another in 2006.
On his defense, he has been pleading non-guilty. A trial was conducted on Monday where one of the victims broke down while testifying leading the judge to adjourn for the day. Weinstein responded to the claims by saying ‘Oh Please’ to the media.
Meanwhile, the accused and another juror were seen dozing off, which made the judge scold them.
In the case, the prosecutors on Thursday completed their case and now Weinstein’s lawyers are expected to lead the case here onwards and moving the case to a verdict soon.
There hasn’t been any confirmation on whether Weinstein will Testify or not because that will open a chance for the prosecutor lawyers to grill him openly.
On the other hand, Donna Rotunno, Weinstein’s attorney defended during the testimony that it no way shows that the act was forced by her client, but the judge did not agree and thus rejected the request right away.
As the defense is now being expected to bring in their witnesses in the next part of the case, it is speculated that a psychologist specializing in human memory will be called upon. They will be trying to raise questions about the precision of the victim’s memory about the case.
Weinstein has been accused by more than 100 women in the #MeToo movement. After which in a post on social media in December he bitterly shared that his work has been forgotten.
