Spring 2020 shows have actually wrapped in Paris, and an extended fashion month has eventually come to a halt. New York’s saturated palette, tempered by fall textures.

London’s layers lightened up in the surprisingly warm late September weather. And Milan’s avant-garde aesthetic made more casual, effortless and every day.

The month closed out in Paris, where the street style felt like all of these things at once.

So far, the French runways have been riveting: we’ve seen the works of Dior, Marine Serre, and Saint Laurent on Day 1, and Maison Margiela, Lanvin, Courreges, and Rochas for Day 2.

The French runways were huge with outstanding hair and makeup scenarios: retro ’70s strands, bridge-of-the-nose-make up (it is less difficult than it sounds), wet-looking strands and over-the-top eye decor, to suggest only a limited key trend that dominated the week. But as usual, the beauty inspiration was not restricted to just the shows.

Outside the platforms, attendees opened their own strands and makeup strengths, working out a slew of various kinds of braids, hair fixtures, headbands, moody fall lip tints, slicked-back hairdos, entire curls, and simple ponytails.

This week terminated with a bang: Chanel and Louis Vuitton halted out the Paris shows, and Cardi B attended to executive realness at Thom Browne.

That implied that we observed a lot of Louis V-branded clothes, tweed, and tailoring on the roads. Whether it was aa rosy gingham blazer matched with green accessories or a basic grey number, showers flaunted their bespoke dresses.

When in Paris, show-goers do as the Parisians do, which is dress to the nines in a mix of well-curated vintage and French designer digs.

For SS20, that means oversized blazers and scarf tops combined with Bottega Veneta sandals and Margiela pillow bags. In addition, we’re expecting leather to continue reigning supreme, with tailored suiting and billowy dresses trailing closely behind.
