The Jonas Brothers’ Instagram account was hacked and netizens cannot stop laughing about it. It turns out that there’s no reason for alarm, as the person behind the hack was someone near and dear to the Bros: their “friend” Diplo.

News of the hack started circulating when the Jonas Brothers’ official Twitter and Instagram accounts unfollowed everyone but Diplo. (They don’t even follow themselves anymore!) First, Diplo posted a shirtless picture of himself, accompanied by a few silly photos of a Jonas Brothers lower back tattoo, himself with some Grammy Awards, the Hanson brothers, and a doctored photo of a balding Joe.

The brothers themselves commented on each pic, imploring Diplo to give them their account back.

Nick commented on one post, “Seriously call me @diplo this isn’t funny.” Joe also shared a screenshot of a text to Diplo about his epic prank.

“The @jonasbrothers are dorks and I hacked their Instagram,” Diplo wrote in his own Instagram post. Whether this troll was genuine or not, one has to laugh at Diplo’s hacking prowess.

Nonetheless, there may be more to the tale than just a good old fashioned joke. E! News reports that the brothers are colluding with Diplo on a song for his new country album, so the hack could have been a teaser of what is to come; Nick, Joe, and Kevin are probably in on the joke and not panicking that someone stole their Instagram password.

We know that they are friends; Diplo infamously dropped the ball about Joe and Sophie Turner’s Vegas wedding, so they seized his phone at their second wedding in France.

It looks like he got it back, though, because now he is in charge of the JoBros’ social media accounts, and we can’t wait to see what tongue-in-cheek post he makes next.
