The Good Place star Jameela Jamil has found a hill she’s willing to die on — speaking out against elements of the fashion industry that can negatively impact women.

On Tuesday, Oct. 15, Jameela Jamil and Sara Sampaio got into argument on Twitter over the modeling industry, after the actor criticized designers for casting long-starved and terrified teenagers in their runway shows.

The actor then defended herself in another tweet, claiming her comments weren’t directed at “all models.” Furthermore, Jamil explained, she was trying to make a point about the “toxic industry,” as a whole, not the models themselves.

She wrote on Twitter that she was calling out the shows and the industry and not the kids.

While it’s good for two people on opposing sides of an issue trying to work toward a mutual understanding, that doesn’t mean the process is always pretty.

Good Place star, Jameela Jamil and model Sara Sampaio’s Twitter feud over modeling and body image is an example of why dialogue is important where complex topics and passionate opinions are concerned.

The conversation continued into Wednesday afternoon, with Sampaio accusing Jamil of “twist[ing] the narrative to service [her] own agenda” and of being condescending towards her and models in general.

Ultimately, the pair reached a kind of cease-fire in their conversation, but not before they could go one more roundabout Victoria’s Secret.

Despite saying she was done with the feud, Sara couldn’t ignore Jameela’s attack on her career and came back again for one last tweet, in which she acknowledged Victoria’s Secret’s mistakes and said that they have been working on changing that.

She also made one more dig at Jameela, saying that she has made big mistakes in the “pass” too, but said that she’s not going to turn to “personal attacks to try to win over some stupid twitter feud.”
