NFL has been in quite huge trouble in the past. NFL had blackballed on Colin Kaepernick that too unceremoniously. The reason was absurd! It was just because the person had the sensibility to care about black and brown people.
Now, the official announcement done by Jay-Z’s company, Roc Nation, reveals that Jay-Z will be getting together will NFL to support the Inspire Change which was actually started off to deal with the Kaepernick’s case and how public reacted to it. Jay-Z will also be co-producing the Super Bowl halftime show.
Beyoncé is the new queen of Disney and Jay-Z has become affiliated to NFL. The duo is surely getting bigger.
Although Jay-Z and Roger Goodell, the commissioner of the NFL stated that they have had a proper discussion with Colin Kaepernick and everything is at peace with him, yet they denied to actually reveal bits and pieces of conversation. Hence, we actually do not know whether things are sorted out among them or not.
When Jay-Z was asked whether he was getting together with NFL against Colin Kaepernick, he said that “I think that we forget that Colin’s whole thing was to bring attention to social injustice so in that case, this is a success — this is the next thing.
There are two parts of protest: the protest, and then there’s a company or individual saying ‘I hear you, what do we do next?’ For me it’s about actionable items, what are we gonna do about it? We get stuck on Colin not having a job, you know what I’m saying? And this is more than that.”
