Jessica Simpson, the popular singer says, it’s not just her voice but also her body that matters a lot while she is on the stage. She mentioned that when she wore the Daisy Dukes shorts in Dukes of Hazzard in 2005, she was utterly praised for her slim body especially her legs.
But over time and with three pregnancies, her body had changed. In her new open book memoir today, the 39-year-old singer said that the Daisy Duke moment “created a gold standard Jessica, the before for every ‘is she fat or is she thin’.

This has been there now for the rest of my career is what she said. Body expectations always follow a celebrity and with three pregnancies and mom jeans look she was called fat by many people though she never expected such a judgment of her body over her voice.
In her own words, Simpson says “ I thought it was about my voice. I didn’t know that it was going to end up being about how I looked in a dress,”. She felt that it was heartbreaking and said she had punished herself to reduce weight by taking diet pills. She didn’t want to hear it and could not hear it even in the subconscious.
Every time she was on stage and every time she walked out of the door, the word fat would taunt her and that is what made her reduce. It was her own insecurity and also a few which she never thought of threw on her. To give her 100 % to the shows, she has set this gold standard by the Daisy Dukes which brought a lot of fame to her.
