Kim Kardashian gets emotional after testing positive for lupus

The season 17’s latest premiere of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” was an extremely difficult one for Kim Kardashian West. Not only was she annoyed by the issues her sister Khloe Kardashian was going through with her daughter’s father (Khloe’s now ex-boyfriend, NBA player Tristan Thompson), but Kardashian West also had to hear some upsetting medical news.

The 38-year-old reality star/mogul/wife and mother revealed she was experiencing a few worrying symptoms. “I’ve been feeling so fatigued, so nauseous and my hands are extremely swollen, god,” she said. “I kinda feel like I literally am falling apart. My hands are sore and numb.”

Her doctor called with the news that her blood tests antibodies that come with lupus and rheumatoid arthritis which left Kardashian West in tattered and “freaking out.”

According to the Mayo Clinic, lupus is a systemic autoimmune illness that occurs when a person’s body’s tissues and organs are attacked by the immune system, resulting in inflammation that can affect different body systems.

Rheumatoid arthritis also is an autoimmune disease that affects the lining of a person’s joints and can cause severely painful swelling, told Mayo Clinic.

And while her doctor told her that false-positive results for lupus are possible, Kardashian West was still inconsolable as he ordered a follow-up visit for advanced tests.

“I’ll know on Friday,” she emotionally told her family.

Kardashian West has often shared her health difficulties with her fans, including her struggle with psoriasis and her struggling states during pregnancies.

Fans on social media had mixed reactions. Many sympathized with her while the others felt it was a PR gimmick. Either way, the neutral audience and her fans alike will find out on a future episode if she actually is suffering from the disease.
