Prince ‘1999’ Reissue to Feature 35 Unheard Songs, more detail inside

The Prince Estate has declared that it will reissue a remastered edition of the artist’s 1982 album 1999 on 29th November 2019 via Warner. The 5xCD/10xLP “Super Deluxe Edition” will consist of 35 previously non-released audios from Prince’s vault, along with a DVD containing video from his 1999 tour stop on December 29, 1982, at the Houston Summit.

The package will also hold of handwritten lyrics for various songs from 1981-1982 (like “Little Red Corvette”) plus pictures from the vault and some photographs by Allen Beaulieu. The brand new liner notes were written by the critic David Fricke, Guns N’ Roses’ Duff McKagan, Minneapolis historian and radio host Andrea Swensson, and Prince scholar Duane Tudahl.

Since he died in 2016, Prince’s estate has broadened the availability of his work, along with his catalog to streaming options and posting previously works which were not released, like Originals, a collection of songs he composed for other artists.

The estate was recently given $4 million dollar judgment in opposition to an engineer who tried to launch an unauthorized EP. The artist left no will or promises for his vault of un launched works.

The set will also consist of the two concerts from the album’s supporting tour, one will be audio-only and one will be on DVD. (Both come from 1982: the former, November 30 in Detroit, and the latter, December 29 in Houston.) And it will arrive with a book showing liner notes, rare photos, and a smattering of Prince’s handwritten music. It is enough to provide any fan very deliriously.

The new version will also be launched as a whopping 10-LP vinyl box set, and in a pared-down edition as a 4-LP or 2-CD edition. The 1999 reissue will be available on November 29. The album will be a hit among the millennials.
