Ryan Reynolds exploded on the internet yesterday when he gave an update on the status of the third Deadpool.
Reynolds, who appeared on the Christmas special with Live on Kelly and Ryan, confirmed that Deadpool 3 was in development at Marvel Studios, marking the entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Here is what he said: “Yes, we are currently working on this with the entire team. Now we’re in Marvel [Studios], it’s like a big-league all of a sudden. This is so crazy. Therefore, we are working on it.”
Due to the ratings of the Deadpool 3 movie, Marvel has received big news. Since its inception, Mouth with Mouth has been the best superhero for the R-rated venture, with Reynolds and directors Tim Miller and David Leach not missing out on making the first and second films, Movies respectively.
Maintaining an R-rating is a major hurdle they found in filmmaking, so I’m interested to see how Reynolds handles the issue that Fox Disney now has with a family-friendly studio.
It is also interesting to see what Deadpool means in the context of the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Will it finally bring Wade Wilson into the MCU based on some reality-crossing multiverse theory? Or Deadpool 3 is going down with Character Rehab for a future MCU movie, which I am not sure, Or maybe the filmmakers patch him into the MCU with no explanation other than to crack the fourth wall.
However, it should be interesting to know the development of Deadpool 3. The film is currently without a date or release date.
