Breaking everyone’s expectations came the Emmy Awards before the Golden Globes this year. One of the biggest and the shiniest nights of the television industry, the 71st Emmy Awards night was held at the Microsoft Theatre of Los Angeles on Sunday, 22nd of September, 2019.
These big nights are famous for quite a few things, first who came with whom, what did they wear and finally who got the award. More than the awards, the hits and misses on the Purple Carpet are gossiped about and why not, what else did the Hollywood Celebs put on the ensembles for.
So, instead of counting the bests lets get done with the worsts first. Gowns are always the favorite choice on the purple walk but what doesn’t shine is a cliched Blue Cinderella Gown by Alexander McQueen, worn by Jenny Mc Carthy. Dascha Polanco with ruffled Christian Siriano ensemble, Kerry Washington’s sequin pants, and white shirt with over the top collars James James Van Der Beek with blush tuxedo, black pants, and brown shoes, a little too ready for the prom look were successful in disappointing, not just the audience but also the Purple Carpet.

If there were disappointments then there were other Elite Hollywood Celebs as well who graced the Emmys with some amazing pieces. Winning the unexpected Red and Pink trend was Mandy Moore with her Brandon Maxwell, in a simple yet sexy gown from Oscar de la Renta was Julia Louis-Dreyfus, debuting on the Purple Carpet was elegantly dressed Lily Singh in emerald and undoubtedly the most stunning entry came from the lady in Canary Yellow, Nicole.
Beyond the best and the worst dressed were two of the most controversial looks on the Purple Carpet that gained eyeballs for both the right and the wrong reasons. First is Billy Porter wearing Michael Kors Couture, a black striped suit but what caught all the attention was a dramatic asymmetrical large hat. The next gutsy attire was worn by none other than Kendall Jenner who combined a Richard Quinn floral gown, which was off the shoulder with a latex turtleneck that didn’t go down too well with many people but nonetheless, Kendall rocked the show as usual.
