The new trailer of The New Mutants has been released finally, and it gives the chance to the mutants to make a full show of their powers. The trailer includes Rasputin, a.k.a Magik featuring Anya Taylor-Joy. The Magik mutant superpower allows her to make teleportation discs. These discs are actually portals that helps one go through the hell dimension LImbo, and also helps her teleport from one location to another. But that’s not the end of Magik superpowers.
As stated in the comics, this character was brought up in limbo and had thus learned the art of magic. As she grew up, she learned to manifest elements of her soul into armors and weapons. This Magik’s Soulsword and armor made their appearance on the new trailer for The New Mutants. As seen in the trailer, that armor magically appears on Magik’s arm. Following that, in the postcard sequence, Magik comes down from one of her teleportation discs, but not alone. Thus, for the first time, the audience gets a chance to see the Soulsword in hand when Magik is ready for a face-off with the manacing Demon Bear.
Tayor Joy has been very vocal about her character before. In her words, Magik is a “bad— bitch from hell and I love her and she’s crazy. She’s really aggro and Russian and sassy. You’re not going to be bored.” The New Mutant has its own twists. Most likely it is going to create a blend of mutants and teen horror. Inspired by the movie “The Demon Saga,”, this is going to be another very engaging movie.
This movie revolves around a few teenagers trapped in a secret facility, traying hard to stay alive. It’s tricky and I haven’t seen the final cut of it,” Taylor-Joy put in in a dramatic tone. She continued “but the energy [around] while we were making it was different than from what people have seen before.”
So be prepared to get goosebumps with the new release hitting the theatres pretty soon.
