Medical science has developed in leaps and bounds, but there are still some deadly diseases, which are still not curable and research is still on for their treatment and cure.
Cancer is one such disease. It is deadly, it is fatal and it kills hundreds each year. The reason why cancer still manages to consume lives is, the reason for its growth and cause is not known. Without the cause, the treatment proves to be difficult. Yet, researchers are throughout are on the search for cure and medications.

The new discovery
Recently, researches have made a startling discovery. They have discovered that healthy cells in our body, dispose of tiny nano-sized bubbles which are extracellular vesicles. These are rich in the genes, DNA, RNA, and numerous therapeutic drugs which have the characteristic to aim at, target, and attack and destroy the cancer cells. By eliminating the cancer cells, its further growth or multiplication can be stopped, leading to the termination of the disease.
This research has claimed that therapeutic drug administration has been altered and improved. Unlike earlier, the drugs are now administered through the EVs(extracellular vesicles). These EVs deliver the enzyme-producing genes that can activate and convert the inactive compounds to toxic agents that will destroy cancer proliferating cells.
The total eradication of all such cells will help terminate the disease.
This method has been tested on mice, with the ailment of breast cancer. All of the research has been published in Molecular Cancer Therapeutics.
Why is it unique and preferable
What made this discovery gain the most interest and discussion about cancer cure is the fact, that it will prove to be better than chemotherapy. During chemotherapy, which aims at killing the cancer cells, it also kills the healthy cells in the process, creating some grave consequences as well. However, with this new treatment method, which aims solely the targeted cancer cells, it helps preserve the health of the patient as well.
