Jeffery Lamar Williams, aka Young Thug, was born on August 16, 1991, in Atlanta, Georgia, the United States.
He was the tenth child of eleven children of his parents based in Sylvan Hills. It was located in a neighborhood of Atlanta.
In his growing years, he was raised in Jonesboro South Projects. He was also friends with other notable rappers from the same neighborhood, like Ludacris, Waka Flocka Flame, and others.
He was also a childhood friend of Peewee Longwau, who was just four doors down from his house.
In sixth grade, Jefferey was expelled from the school for breaking a teacher’s arm. He had to spend four years in a juvenile prison.
The rapper started his career in 2010 with his debut as a guest appearance on TruRoyal’s song She Can Go.

In January 2017, a lawsuit against the rapper was filed because he didn’t show up at a music concert at Sahlen’s Stadium. He signed the contract for $55,000 for the appearance.
He had multiple lawsuits filed against him for the same reason. Another instance was his contract with a Texas production company in April 2016.
Young Thug was also charged, however cleared due to lack of evidence, of battery in April 2017 when he slapped a woman outside a nightclub a few weeks back.
In April 2017, his house in Sandy Springs in, Georgia, was raided, after which he was charged with felony cocaine, marijuana, and gun possessions.
Young was also arrested on September 24, 2017, in Brookhaven, Georgia, for multiple drug and firearm possessions. However, he was released on bond a few days later.
All charges against Young except felony marijuana possession were dropped as his lawyers argued that police conducted the raid without a warrant.
Thug was again arrested on May 9, 2022, in Atlanta for some gang-related charges. He was further charged with additional felonies related to possession of illegal substances and firearms.
