As Barack Obama continues to drag America kicking and screaming toward government controlled health care, here is another collection of stories from the ‘free’ health care utopias of Canada and the UK.
Remember, in health care you get what you pay for.
An ambulance driver clocks off mid-emergency and the patient died.
Hospitals complain that treating patients cuts into the time they have to clean and prevent MRSA.
Dangerous doctors are allowed to kill.
Canada refuses to give simple hand sanitizers to natives ‘in case they drink them’, even as H1N1 ravages reserves.
Ontario bungles electronic health records, loses millions.
Life saving PET scans are not covered and have been in clinical trials for 7 years.
When government is in charge of your health, you lose control. When government is in control, the only way to make the money last is to ration the care.

So the Canadian government won’t provide hand sanitizers to Indians on reserves. Of course, the idea that these folks might actually go out and BUY THEIR OWN SOAP would never occur to them – or to the scribblers at the Red Star. (Lord knows they can afford it, with the kind of money that gets thrown their way.)
And why not? Because the reserves are – you guessed it – completely socialized. Everything and everyone is utterly dependent on Mommy and Daddy in Ottawa. Personal responsibility is double-plus-ungood. And that is, of course, the prescription for the rest of us as well.
