Gossip Girl Will Strike Back On HBO Max! Show’s Cast Confirms

HBO Max has provided a 10-episode direct-to-series order for an update of the series to the streaming of the WarnerMedia service. The CW from 2007-2012 was the first show, and the stars Blake Lively, Penn Badgley, Leighton Meester, Chace Crawford and Ed Westwick started their careers.

The fresh version will be written and managed by Joshua Safran, who was the display of the original in his subsequent seasons. Also, exec producers are series writers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage.

We’re a little bit in love with the originals and we have a very great deal of work on them and that’s such a large component of our life,” said Safran, in an interview. ”It is something about which we talked-Josh, Stephanie and I.-just in terms,’ is that something we want to discover? Then the stars aligned, and we were able to jump, and Warners is obviously an excitement for them. It seemed like the best time and the best way to do it.”

Safran refused to comment on plot information or whether the initial characters could appear. The new series reads: “A fresh generation of New York private college teenagers will be introduced to personal supervision of Gossip Girl 8 years after the initial website has gone dark. The prestigious series will address how much social media —and the New-York landscape itself — has altered over the years,” he describes as an extended to the original.”

“The concept is that society changes continually,” Safran said, “it is a fresh look at this special New York culture. So how has this world altered, how have the social media and their effects altered? These are all things that enable us to see the world 12 years later rather than just to re-do the tale.”

HBO Max is scheduled for release in spring 2020 (a beta-launch feasible at the end of this year) with an initial content of over 10,000 hours. Warner Bros. is included. Friends produced on TV — for which, over five years, Warner Media has paid out $425 million in revenue from Netflix, sources claim— Throne game, Pretty Little Liars and Warner Bros. Fresh Prince of Bel Air and library content, New Line, HBO, TNT, TBS, TruTV, TCM, Cartoon Network, Adult Swim.
