‘Peaky Blinders’ Season 5, Episode 3: Review -Who’s Going To Screw Up Tommy Shelby’s Plans?

In a nutshell: Aberama is set to be traveling Glasgow to exact vengeance; Mosley holds Tommy by blackmailing him, who manages to turn the tables on him; Arthur, hell-bent on finding Linda, goes out of control.

We’re almost midway into Peaky Blinders Season 5, the much reveled British period gangster drama.

This season’s Williams has been identified; on the side, there’s the Billy Boys, Scottish hooligans with a liking for crucifixion and soccer chants, and on the other side of it there’s Oswald Mosley, smug father of British fascism.

But I guess that’s the point all Peaky Blinders seasons try to make if you start giving it a thought. On to the million-dollar question— who is going to spoil Tommy’s plans?

It’s not that difficult. Tommy Shelby, Peaky Blinders‘ the show’s protagonist essayed by Cillian Murphy, always has some big plan in the build-up.

While everyone’s concerned about solving horse races and running a bookmaking facility out of the Birmingham slums, he’s hobnobbing with the aristocracy and getting elected to Parliament.

He’s the criminal and strategic brain behind the Shelby family and Peaky Blinders homies, cool as ice, intercepting side deals you didn’t see coming, and ensuring his demons at bay.

The episode starts with Tommy and Aunt Polly, played by Helen McCrory, making a visit to St. Hilda’s Orphanage, where they swear (like a lot) and threaten a host of nuns, which, you know, is generally talking your way through, not a good way to enter Heaven.

But, these nuns do seem rather condescending and the Shelbys have been issued reports of child abuse.

I’m not sure where this plotline is headed, but it gives Tommy an opportunity to say anything that comes out of his mouth which is already a given that it will be a pretty dope catchphrase.
