Sacred Games 3 Rumor or Reality?

Sacred Games is India’s first Netflix original series directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap. The series is originally based on the novel “Sacred Games” by Vikram Chandra. Season 1 was a huge hit and has won many awards and titles. It won the Best Drama Award at News18 iReel Awards. Anurag Kashyap was awarded the Best Direction Award and Aarti Bajaj won the award for Best Editing at the inaugural Asian Academy Creative Awards.

More and more suspense

Season 1 was released in 2018 which left the audience with several questions bubbling up in their heads. The recently released Season 2 does not answer these questions but on the other hand creates more confusion among the audience, bringing in more curiosity. Though Netflix has not yet announced an upcoming season, the audience is looking forward to a potential Season 3 which would be answering the questions and solving the mysteries left unattended in the previous seasons.

The biggest question stands above us, “Would Sartaj be able to defuse the nuclear bomb planted to destroy, and save his city as Gaitonde had instructed him in the first season?” This question itself is enough for us to be sure of an upcoming Season 3 and what all contents it may have.

Season 2 ends when Sartaj was trying to defuse the bomb, by putting in three code combinations. As he was trying to put in the last code combination, the screen turns out black leaving the audience in a state of dilemma and suspense of whether Sartaj was able to save the city or not.

“What is going to happen next?”, “What is the future of Mumbai city?” are the questions which continue to bother people.

What the cast is saying?

Amidst all these rumors Saif Ali Khan says in one of his interviews to the Press Trust of India, “This story ends at the end of this season. So I don’t know if they will extend it. But there is always scope for more.” The director Vikramaditya Motwane also reveals in one of his interviews to the Hindustan Times that they are likely to be running out of source material from the novel, but they may continue the series beyond the novel.

This article may have given the readers a short idea as to what is going to happen next. There is a good chance of the producers to announce a Season 3 in the next few months.
